Very excited about performing with Slava Grigoryan and the Southern Cross Soloists family in just over a months time.
I’m taking the Ravel G major Concerto for a spin, and the program also features music by Rodrigo, Debussy and a world premiere by Natalie Nicolas - Composer 🎶
‘Souvenirs de Aranjuez’
Sunday 21st February
Concert Hall, QPAC
ARIA Award-winning virtuoso guitarist and long-time friend of the Southern Cross Soloists, Slava Grigoryan headlines the ensemble’s first concert of 2021 officially kickstarting the journey toward their next jubilee.
With a scintillating program of Spanish and French masterworks, Slava and the ensemble traverse through European musical history, moving from the sizzling guitar works of the Spanish Baroque to the evocative masterpieces of Belle Époque greats Debussy and Ravel. This exotic program briefly visits Australian shores with the world premiere of a new work by Sydney-based Natalie Nicolas - Composer before culminating with the sultry, intoxicating beauty of Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez.
