French baroque composer Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764) was considered to be one of the leading composers of his time. 'Les Indes Galantes' is an opera-ballet with unifying themes of love in exotic places. From the second part of the work, 'Entrée II – Les incas du Pérou' (The Incas of Peru) in 'Viens, hymen' the princess Phani sings of her love for Carlos, a Spanish officer who is urging her to escape with him while the Incas are preparing to celebrate the Festival of the Sun.
