Venezuelan/French composer Reynaldo Hahn (1874-1947) was hugely prolific as a composer despite his name rarely featuring on contemporary programs. He is perhaps best known for his collection of gorgeous French mélodie. 'A Chloris' is an elegant and heartbreakingly beautiful love song that features a pseudo-Baroque bass line in the piano, reminiscent of Bach’s famous Air on a G String.
