Mourning the death of her father, Donna Anna begs Don Ottavio, her betrothed, to stop talking about marriage until she has time to grieve in this aria beautifully and painfully brought to life by soprano Elizabeth Lewis.
‘Non mi dir’ from 'Don Giovanni'
by W. A. Mozart
Piano Alex Raineri
The libretto for Mozart’s 'Don Giovanni' was billed as a dramma giocoso, a common designation of its time that denotes the fusing of serious and comic action. However, Mozart described the work as an opera buffa. Although sometimes classified as comic, it blends comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements.
